Tis the season to be jolly. The winter holidays only come around once a year so, the social services staff celebrates in a monumental way.

Social worker Patrick Trapp gets in the holiday spirit with music from Mitch Miller.

“Everyone knows a Mitch Miller song,” Trapp said.

Trapp celebrates all of the traditional American holidays and adoption day. Adoption day is a holiday that he and his family celebrate on February 9 it was the day he was adopted.

When asked which holiday is your favorite, most people say Christmas or Halloween, but not Mr. Trapp.

“Christmas Eve, because it’s less about the gifts and more about the anticipation,” Trapp said when asked what his favorite holiday was. He also said that because no one else would say that is their favorite.

Everyone has a favorite memory and Trapp’s favorite was how every year as a child, a family friend would dress up as Santa and give them presents. But it did not stop there, the neighbors would get involved and say “We’ve spotted Santa.”

“Something I find so cool is when students have their first day of Holiday break they think about how much time they have off, but on August 5, when they have two weeks till school, all they do is dread it,” Trapp said.
