Tom Fedderly resigns as head football coach

Kaneland has announced head football coach Tom Fedderly has resigned. Fedderly leaves behind a team that went 4-5 and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second time in the past three years.

“Coach Fedderly cared a lot about our program and did a lot to help us get better everyday he could. I personally appreciate everything he has done for me as well as our team.” junior lineman Matt Payton said.

Overall the Knights were very successful under his tenure as he finishes up with a 73-33 overall record, including back to back state semi final appearances, but was unable to lead the team to a state title.

“We are thankful for Coach Fedderly’s many years of hard work and dedication to Kaneland. We thank Coach Fedderly for his 24 years of service to the football program” Athletic director Peter Goff and Principal Jill Maras said in a statement.
