The little things count
“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were big things.”
Little acts of kindness may be only a speck in your eyes, but to someone else may make their whole day. KIK week in our community isn’t only for this week, but rather a reminder to spread kindness every single day in any way you can! Here’s just a few of the many ways to do so:
-
Say hi to someone you’ve never said hi to before
-
Smile at someone
-
If someone dropped some papers, help pick them up
-
Give someone a compliment
-
Help neighbors with yard work
-
Write someone a friendly note
-
Make a donation
-
Wish them luck in an upcoming event they’re participating in
-
Tell someone your favorite thing about them
-
Always say please and thank you
-
Do they look lost? Even if you are in a rush, give them directions
-
Offer someone a seat at lunch
-
If you find money, turn it in to the office, teacher, etc.
-
Leave a generous tip at a restaurant
-
Pick up trash in the hallway, classroom, etc.
-
Offer someone a writing utensil or a piece of paper if they forgot one
-
Pay for someone’s lunch if they are short money, or better yet, randomly
-
Forgive someone of a debt and never mention it again
-
When driving, give other drivers the benefit of the doubt
-
If someone looks sad or lonely, be a friend for them
-
If someone is injured or looks as if they are having trouble, help them carry their books
