“Under the Dome” becomes summer hit

Stephen King, known to all as the master of modern horror and suspense, did not disappoint with the first season of his new television series, “Under the Dome”.

The story centers around a small town, Chester’s Mill, and the resident’s reactions when a giant barrier encloses them. The barrier is impenetrable and causes a wide spread panic, although some attempt to maintain peace in the town. The story follows these dutiful citizens.

The series is based off of a book written by Stephen King himself. The story keeps true to the book, with some minor exceptions including that multiple characters have been excluded.

Overall the series has received positive reviews from notable sources including Publisher Weekly.

“It’s a nonstop thrill ride as well as a disturbing, moving, meditation on our capacity for good and evil” said Dan Traeger a journalist for Publisher Weekly said.

“Under the Dome” leaves viewers with a taste of suspense and mystery and has already been renewed for a second season in the summer of 2014. Hopefully season two will answer many questions for viewers, including who put the dome there and for what purpose.
