Despite the record low temperatures this summer, it’s officially time to say goodbye to summer dresses with flip-flops and hello to fall fashion.
“Gladiator shoes have definitely gotten way more popular since last fall, along with colorful skinny jeans,” sophomore Sharissa Lee said.
Many of last fall’s trends continue to be popular this season.
“The same things as a year ago are still in: clogs, moccasins and flowy tops. However, skinny jeans seem to be more popular with guys now,” freshman Maggie Brundige said.
Layering clothes and long necklaces are always a cute addition to any outfit, Brundige said. Not all students are interested in the latest trends.
“I like to follow trends, but also manage to wear things that not everyone else is [wearing],” junior Kayla Burns said. “I don’t find it important to be wearing the latest fashions.”
“I just enjoy dressing up and looking good for myself, not for others,” Lee said.
KHS classroom can be quite cold at times. Senior Anajesta Shamble suggests wearing a [non zip-up] hoodie to class.
“Hoodies aren’t that fashionable, but they help you stay warm,” Shamble said.
Fall fashion trends will vary depending on the personalities of students. Shamble will be seen in Ugg Boots this fall, while Lee said she doesn’t own any, but if she did, she wouldn’t pair it with shorts.
“It’s just not my style,” she said.
Plaid has made a comeback this fall, but it may be short lived.
“Since [plaid patterns] are so overused, it’s definitely on it’s way out soon. I’ll still wear it in small quantities though,” Burns said.
Burns also loves belts. “Skinny or big, either way, they’re great to define a waist. The size of the belt depends on the outfit,” she said.
