Varsity golf wins their first home match

Senior Will Marshall takes a swing at Hughes Golf Course.

On Wednesday August 29th, the Kaneland boys Golf team competed in their first home match of the season at Hughes Creek Golf Course.

“The guys felt good playing our home course, Hughes Creek, for the first conference match of the season,” senior varsity golfer Will Marshall said.

Kaneland competed against the Sycamore Spartans. Overall, Kaneland had 151 strokes as a team and Sycamore had 176 strokes as a team. Marshall led the team shooting a 33, Ryan Milton followed close behind shooting a 37, Bryce Stair shot a 38 and Kyle Healy followed with a 43.

“Our team goal this year is to advance to state, our team is extremely talented…I have lots of confidence that the team will peak in the postseason and advance to state,” Marshall said.
