At the Western Sun Conference Tournament at White Tail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville, sophomore Adam Grams shot a 79, his personal best, and placed 10th in the tournament.
The varsity and freshman-sophomore teams both took sixth out of eight teams overall in conference.
“We already improved our record from last year,” varsity golf coach Mark Meyer said.
The Knights ended the season with a 5-7 record and a 3-4 record in conference.
“The worst part of my game is putting. In the sand, I’ve gotten a lot better,” Grams said.
“The weakest part of my game is definitely putting. I’ve struggled with putting all summer and fall,” junior Hayley Guyton said.
Guyton is the number one player on the golf team, and contended in girls’ regional at Timber Pointe Golf Club in Poplar Grove. Guyton finished 26th in the state tournament last season. The players have high hopes for next season because of their improvement.
“I’m looking forward to a winning record,” Grams said. “We’re going to be really good next year.”
