Paranormal activity in the KHS theater

There are rumors within the KHS theater department that there is a ghost haunting the auditorium. Flickering lights, slamming doors and voices are just a few of the ghostly encounters in the auditorium.

Junior Autumn Georgi works as stage manager for the auditorium and claims to have encountered the ghost.

“One time when I was alone in the auditorium, my music turned static and the door [to the lighting booth] slammed shut. I heard a prop move in the prop room and I got scared. I was walking out of the auditorium and then my music completely stopped. It turned back on when I got out,” Georgi said.

That wasn’t Georgi’s only run in with the alleged ghost. She also works the lighting board for shows and explained that there are lighting issues that happen for unknown reasons, such as lights turning on and off or them flickering. She said that the issues could be due to wiring, but that isn’t likely because the auditorium was built in 2002.

While Georgi is convinced that the auditorium is being terrorized by the supernatural, Theater Director and English Teacher Christina Staker is intrigued but not convinced.

“I don’t think there is a ghost. I tend to associate ghosts with old places, but the auditorium was built in 2002. I do kind of wish there was a ghost because it would be cool,” Staker said.

English Teacher Rachel Giles, who helps direct the shows at KHS, agrees with Staker and claims that the haunting is a hoax.

“No, there is no ghost here. There hasn’t been any deaths in the auditorium. It was made up by kids,” Giles said.
