Snickerdoodle cookies: great for holiday parties, post-Christmas dinner or even a midnight snack for Santa Claus.

Snickerdoodle cookies have a slightly cracked surface and can be crisp and soft depending on its preference. Snickerdoodles were originally originated in Germany. They have become well known, also they have become very popular in non-edible products such as candle scents, ice cream flavor, and coffee flavors. These cookies are known for making your taste buds jump up with happiness.

Ingredients:

  • Flour
  • Cream of tartar
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Shortening
  • Pure vanilla extract

Baking supplies:

  • Cookie sheet
  • Medium sized bowl
  • Large sized bowl
  • Electronic mixer

Procedure:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.

Step 2: Take bowl and add 2 ¾ cups of flour, 2 tsp cream of tartar, 1 tsp of baking soda and ¾ tsp of salt. Set aside.

Step 3: Beat 1 ½ cups of sugar and 1 cup of shortening in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.

Step 4: Add 2 eggs, 2 Tbs of milk and 2 tsp of vanilla; mix thoroughly. Gradually beat on low speed until well mixed.

Step 5: Mix in the remaining ¼ cup sugar and 1 Tbs of cinnamon.

Step 6: Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

Step 7: Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until lightly brown.

Step 8: Cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes. Remove wire racks or plate; cool completely.

Step 9: Grab a glass of milk to wash down the cookies and enjoy.
