Director Ang Lee creates a groundbreaking movie event about a young man name Piscine Patel, who is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery.

Soon after Pi’s father tells him that the family must sell their zoo and move to Canada, they pack up everything, including the animals, and board a ship. While at sea, they encounter a horrific storm causing the ship to sink. He’s thrown into one of the lifeboats. Some of the zoo’s menagerie- a frantic zebra, a fussy orangutan, and Richard Parker- join him.

Adrift at sea, Pi gets depressed about his family’s death, he decides he wants to let himself die too. The will to survive soon kicks in later when Pi forms an amazing and unexpected connection with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger. The face-off and the ambivalence Pi feels toward the beast — both drawn to him and fearing him- is an amazing experience.
