Around two and a half years ago, a junior at Kaneland began his career in video making on YouTube. Almost instantly, a new name was popping up all over the place on the internet. With videos covering topics that range from popular pop culture topics such as Slenderman and Grand Theft auto, Ryan Longson has been making waves ever since.

“I started making Youtube videos after watching all of these Youtube videos of Shane Dawson in eighth grade and I figured wow this is relatively easy or looked easy. So I figured I could do that. So I started trying it in eighth grade and have done it since.” Longson said.

In eighth grade Longson taught himself to edit, direct and act in his videos. Not only has he improved from his beginning videos on quality and directing, he has began to learn more about editing.

When it comes to editing videos Longson uses the Adobe Programs and is quite skilled at it for the amount of time he has been using them.  YouTube is just the beginning of where he would like to move on with this talent.

“Eventually I’d like to go to California to make a future out of making movies and YouTube videos for the rest of my life,” Longson said.

While Longson has been making YouTube videos, he has learned a few things about other people and he has some tips for beginners on YouTube. Longson said not to mind the trollers, also known as people that hate on you or get angry with what you upload. After a short look at Longson’s uploaded videos on his page, he really isn’t letting anyone alter his mindset.
