The dead are walking into season three

The dead are walking into season three

BY ANNA SENESE, Reporter

Is The Walking Dead a show about zombies or a study of human interaction between groups of people that are facing a worldwide apocalypse? The show is based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman that has transformed into a successful T.V. series with content beyond anyone’s imagination.

The series first aired during Halloween of 2010 and is in its third season. The series focuses on the question “what if?”. What would a person do if they were facing apocalyptic circumstances? Would their morals change? Does their view on relationships change? The terrifying interactions between these groups of individuals are written like it was real experience.

The first two seasons focus on Rick Grimes and his family. After taking a bullet to the abdomen, he awakes to find the world around him deserted and overrun with ‘walkers,’ people back from the dead and hungry for human flesh. Rick is determined to find his family, so he heads to Atlanta.

Upon reaching the city, Rick is helped by surprise friend Glenn. He is led to a small group of survivors in the woods and is reunited with his family. The group continues to battle the walkers, deal with dramatic, real life human issues and fight for their survival.

As the third season begins, viewers have already been on a roller coaster ride of emotion and excitement. As the new season begins, viewers watch Rick continue to make tough decisions, such as who gets to live and who needs to be killed, where the group should relocate to and other complicated matters concerned with keeping the group safe.

The show is portrayed in a way to make one want more every week; the suspense is intense. The characters are brilliantly developed and allow viewers to relate to the emotional situations they are put through. Every week, something new is brought in to increase the action and keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m.
