The new reality television show Catfish has only aired a few times on MTV and is already a hit. The inspiration of Catfish, Yaniv “Nev” Schulman, established a movie about his personal experience with online dating. He was texting a girl around his age named  Megan, possibly the love of his life, almost daily. They crossed on Facebook. Because of the feelings Nev had for this girl, he set out to find her. From  New York City to Gladstone, Michigan,  Nev had arrived. To his surprise, Megan  turned out to be her middle-aged mother,  meaning that he was sharing all of his personal private life secrets with her and had feelings for a woman who was pretending to be the light of his world. With this offsetting bewilderment, Nev decided that he couldn’t possibly be the only one that this happens to. So, he wanted to reach out to viewers everywhere. This led to the making of the show.

This show captures the reality of online relationships and it is easy to connect with. Catfish is all about finally breaking out of that shell and discovering who the person on the other side of the keyboard really is and if they were destined to be the love of their life.

The show airs every Monday night at nine p.m. central. Tune in to see what the next story will be. Will they find their perfect match or end up broken-hearted?
