Fisherman’s Inn is getting a facelift.
“Every time my husband Mark and I would go past it, he would say ’I wish I could buy that place; wouldn’t it be amazing?’” new Fisherman’s Inn co-owner Patti Southern said.
Mark and Patti Southerns’ wish came true.
The well-loved restaurant, wedding destination and trout sanctuary is aiming to reopen this fall. The entire grounds are getting looked at, and while some the long-term favorite things about the inn may stay the same, other changes are being made. Southern is very excited about the renovations.
“We want to keep as much history as we can in the inn. We are also doing a lot of updating and remodeling. It will still have the warm, rustic feel, but it will have a little more rustic elegance,” Patti Southern said.
Feeding the trout kept in the pond by the restaurant will be kept as one of the memorable traditions about Fisherman’s Inn.
Other iconic Fisherman’s Inn traits are sticking around as well. The Silo room, banquet rooms and wedding areas will all still be intact.
However, sometimes, change is good, and Southern is embracing that ideology. A new elevator will be added, patio with its own patio bar, and a new trout run will be ready by Fisherman’s Inn’s reopening as well.
