Not all heroes wear capes: Laura McPhee awarded as an ‘everyday hero’

By: Skylar Rolle, Editor

The school board meeting on November 9 began by awarding Kaneland staff member Laura McPhee for being an everyday hero. Assistant principal Diane McFarlin made the announcement to recognize McPhee for being named this by the Kane County Chronicle.

“Everyone loves her, she’s [McPhee] one of the smartest people we know,” McFarlin said.

This was the theme according to the board agenda, and superintendent Todd Leden made sure to let teachers know they are Kaneland’s everyday heroes.

“…[teachers are] working to create the best education environment,” Leden said.
