School board elections welcome new member

Kaneland School District 302 held elections yesterday, April 7, for four seats on the Board of Education.

With only about 13 percent of the community getting out to the polls to vote, the results were fairly close in number.

The election results welcomed newcomer Ryan Kerry to the board with 905 votes. The board’s Vice President, Teresa Witt, finished with 1,187 votes, followed by Gale Pavlak with 1,168 votes and Peter Lopatin with 918 votes.

Board member Tony Valente was voted off the board, finishing last out of 8 candidates with 751 votes.
