Tonight, Kaneland Knights (15-10) will be taking on fellow Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference member Sycamore (6-17) at Rochelle High School.
This will be Kaneland’s first game of the Rochelle regional. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
This will be the third matchup between the teams. Kaneland and Sycamore split the pair of games in conference play earlier in the year.
“We need to be more sound on the defensive end of the floor. We need to take care of the basketball and attack the basket,” Kaneland varsity head coach Brian Johnson said
In the most recent matchup, the Spartans took down the Knights on the road with on Feb. 4 with a 51-42 victory. On Dec. 10, the Knights defeated the Spartans in convincing fashion, thrashing them with a 28-point win.
“I think we need to play lock down defense, rebound the ball,” sophomore forward John Pruett said.
Sycamore is coming off an 11-point win over Burlington Central. The top-seeded Knights are looking to avenge last season’s loss in their first regional game.
“It’s not our last game,” senior forward Marcel Neil said.
