Three members of the Kaneland Varsity Tennis team advanced to the state tournament last Thursday. Senior Samantha Schrepferman played singles, while seniors Madison Jurcenko and Angelica Emmanouil played as doubles.

The tournament started on Thursday and ended on Saturday. Jurcenko and Emmanouil made it to the round of eight.

“It was a very stressful and exhausting weekend,” said Emmanouil.

The girls said they didn’t play their best because of nerves and stress, but they still played well.

The doubles team ended up placing eighth place in the tournament and said they were satisfied with where they ended up after the long weekend.
