Optimistic about this season

By Brandon Bishop, Reporter

In the first year of the Northern Illinois Big 12 conference, the Kaneland Lady Knights bowling team is off to a 1-4 start. Two of the top bowlers, Holly Thomas (3rd place) and Colleen Ryan (6th place), placed in the Dundee Crown Invitational tournament on Dec.4.

“A lot of new people have joined the team this year and we are doing really good. I’m optimistic about our season,” junior bowler Selena Isaacs said.

The team consists of new bowlers including sophomore Morgan Wojociechowski, who McKnight said he was “especially impressed” with. She has increased her bowling average by 50 pins.

“We have a lot of new bowlers this year and they have a fantastic attitude. They are always positive and they want to learn more everyday,” Coach McKnight said.

Some of the goals that the bowling team have made are to have fun and to try and learn as much about bowling as possible. Bowlers like Isaacs, whose season high is 204, have also set their own goals.

“My goal is to get my average higher and more consistent,” Isaacs said. “I’m getting a new ball, so I think that will help my consistency.”
