Family and friends would love to get this peppermint shower scrub for Christmas. This neat DIY peppermint scrub smells great, is quick and easy to make and only uses a few ingredients.
Ingredients:
¾ cup white sugar
½ cup fractionated coconut oil
12 drops peppermint oil
Skin safe food coloring
Instructions:
- In a bowl combine sugar and fractionated coconut oil.
- Divide sugar and coconut oil mixture evenly into two bowls.
- In one bowl add red skin safe food coloring.
- Layer red and white scrubs in jar to create candy cane effect.
Tips:
- If you don’t have sugar, you can substitute it with sea salt.
- If you don’t have fractionated coconut oil, you can substitute it for almond oil, grapeseed oil or olive oil.
- You can customize the shower scrub with different colors and essential oils such as pine, clove or cinnamon.

Materials
- Small jar
- Soy or beeswax pellets
- Essential oils
- Candle wicks
- Crayons
- Small pans
Steps
- Melt wax in small batches in small pans and add crayons of the desired colors and different essential oils to each.
- Next put a small drop of wax on the bottom of the jar and attach the wick to it.
- Pour the first layer of wax into the bottom of the jar and let cool completely, repeat with all other layers making sure to let them cool completely before adding the next.
- Cut wick ½ to ¼ inch at the top and top with lid.
Tips
- Instead of using crayons you can use wax dye or colored wax pellets.
- If you don’t have jar, babyfood jars are the perfect size.
