HOPE Feast Brings a Surprise
On Tuesday, November 14, during 4th and 5th period, the HOPE program held its 6th annual Thanksgiving feast. The gathering is possible with the collaborative efforts by families of students in the program and teachers.
The dinner is held in the Auxiliary Gym, where the HOPE program has class every day. The atmosphere of the dinner was lively.
There were fall-themed themed decorations seen throughout the walls of the gym. Everyone who has impacted this program and helped out filled the gym with conversation.
Then the feast coordinator and HOPE program teacher, Brian Willis, had an announcement for the group, someone close to the program and Kaneland has arrived.
Graduate and former HOPE program member, Julia Pratte, made a grand entrance. Her appearance was greeted with shocked and amazed emotions. Pratte has been fighting Bone Marrow cancer since 2013. She is still undergoing chemotherapy.
Following the emotional reunion, Willis spoke a few words, thanking those who were able to make the event possible.
