On Mondays after school, students with creative minds and a love for fashion come together in A107 for Fashion club. Although this club has been around for three years,  few know what the club is and what the club members do.

The club was started three years ago by Lexi Logan, she started it because she wanted to pursue fashion as a career. The problem was that there were no clubs or activities that involved fashion. Because of this she came up with the idea of a club where people could work with fashion and be themselves.

In the club, all members work together and help each other if someone is struggling. While working on pieces of clothes they all worked together, each person working on a different objective, whether it was sewing or pinning the fabrics together.

The art teacher at KHS, Emily VanDelinder-Birchfield, is the sponsor of fashion club.

Club members are allowed to choose which projects they participate in.

“It depends on the student’s interests and what they like to do, right now we are working on the fall plays costumes. I also help students if they want to learn how to create their own clothes,” VanDelinder said.

Senior Heather Diehl is a member of fashion club and has loved it since she first joined.

“I enjoy fashion club a lot, it just started, but we have a lot of plans. We hope to do a fashion show soon, and we are able to learn how to remodel old clothing, also it’s a great chance to meet new people,” Diehl said.

Her favorite part of the club is learning how to make clothes and making them unique to their own personal styles.

“I love clothes, and have always wanted to learn how to sew,” Diehl said.

Lauren Karolewicz, a junior, has only been in the club for two weeks but enjoys being in the club and going every week. She loves fashion and sewing clothes.

“My favorite thing about the club is that it’s very relaxing and it’s nice to decompress and be with people that are very nice and that you’re comfortable with,” Karolewicz said.
