Cullen Heuman

Watching Mr. Kaneland from the crowd inspired senior Cullen Heuman to work his way up the ladder. Rehearsals give Heuman a chance to hang out with this friends and do the things he loves: dancing and singing. Heuman is convinced Josh Herrero and Matt Redman are going to be tough competitors because of the extreme amounts of tickets they’ve been selling, and their unpredicted acts. It’s going to take a lot more than that to slow Heuman down.

“I think I’m bringing something new to the table,” Heuman said.

Josh Herrero

Junior Josh Herrero uses his interest in theater to be a part of Mr. Kaneland. Bonding with most of the other guys helps bring even more fun into the competition for Herrero. Matt Redman is someone Herrero is keeping a close eye on not only because of the amount of bracelets he has sold, but because he is doing the same type of act as Herrero. Herrero believes that hard work goes a long way.

“Whatever happens, happens,” Herrero said.

Leo Espinosa

Sophomore Leo Espinosa doesn’t think that Mr. Kaneland is just about gaining the title. It’s about helping out the Kaneland community, and raising money for the Kaneland Cares Foundation. Espinosa enjoys working with everyone in the competition and having fun with one another. Although he considers Josh Herrero being a threat because of his excessive amount of hard work and dedication, Espinosa believes that Mr. Kaneland is a title for someone who not only cares for themselves, but for others.

Mace Jendruczek

Senior Mace Jendruczek has always wanted to be active in high school, so why not participate in a competition for a good cause? Giving to charity and having an immeasurable amount of fun makes the experience worth it for Jendruczek. Despite the fact that Mike Petrick is bringing a very unexpected act to the table, Jendruczek still has faith that his talent will top all the others.

“I’m really just here to have fun,” Jendruczek said.

Quarvonte Glover

Junior Quarvonte Glover uses his performing skills to catch eyes in order to support the Kaneland Cares Foundation. Being in the theater atmosphere and dancing is Glover’s favorite part about the competition. He doesn’t fear going up against the other participants, because he doesn’t view any of them as competitors. Glover believes the Mr. Kaneland crown is within his reach.

“I’m just here to have fun,” Glover said.

Tom Huff

Engaging in a competition that raises money for those in need is why senior Tom Huff chose to be a part of Mr. Kaneland. Being around his peers and having fun makes Huff’s involvement in this well known event enjoyable. Even though Huff is here to have fun, he does believe that Patrick Murphy is a competitor because of the amount of money he is raising. That won’t keep Huff from savoring each and every moment.

“I like being fun, goofy,” Huff said.

Bryan Zollinger

Senior Bryan Zollinger liked how the Kaneland community was doing something that gave back and he wanted to be a part of that.  Zollinger’s favorite part about Mr. Kaneland is doing the group routines.  He feels the toughest competitor will be Josh Herrero, but he thinks that his charming personality will be enough to take him down.  The skill that Zollinger has in piano is why he believes he is capable of being the next Mr. Kaneland.

Matthew Redman

Senior Matthew Redman was inspired to “avenge Steve aka Tanner Vanhorn’s loss last year,” Getting to hangout out with the group and just being able to hangout with them is what Redman said is his favorite part about Mr. Kaneland.  Redman thinks that his biggest competitor is himself.  He feels he is capable of being the next Mr. Kaneland simply because he wants it more.

Patrick Murphy

Senior Patrick Murphy was inspired to be to be a part of Mr. Kaneland because he did it last year and some of his good friends decided to do it this year.  His favorite part about Mr. Kaneland is the show itself and the purpose of the show.  He believes that he will have a tough time beating Jarod Kovach and Matthew Redman, but he says that his experience and ability to raise money will be enough to beat them.  He says he is capable of winning based on of how much he likes the school.

Michael Petrik

Senior Michael Petrik was inspired to do this because he loves the community, “I never shy away from an opportunity to get up on stage and dance like a dingus,” Petrik said.  His favorite part about Mr. Kaneland is the excitement that is leading up to the competition and being backstage with everyone.  He believes that Josh Herrero will be the hardest to beat, but Petrik is all about thinking outside the box.  He thinks that he is capable of becoming the next Mr. Kaneland because he believes that he has the most dedication to the Kaneland community.

Harrison Saylors

Senior Harrison Saylors was inspired to be a part of Mr. Kaneland because it is more than just a talent show because everything is for a good cause.  His favorite part about Mr. Kaneland is seeing the other dances and talents.  Saylors says that Matthew Redman and Josh Herrero are going to be the toughest to beat, but he is going to be on his own so he thinks that will be enough to win.  Saylors says he is capable of being the next Mr. Kaneland because he works really hard and he will impress people in the competition.

Nathan Maras

Junior Nathan Maras was inspired to be a part of Mr. Kaneland because he likes the foundation and how he can hang out with his friends.  His favorite part of Mr. Kaneland is how all funds raised go to a great foundation.  Maras believes that Patrick Murphy is his biggest competitor, but he thinks his routines are funny and goofy.  He believes he is capable of being the next Mr. Kaneland because he is really happy to be a part of the Kaneland community.

Jarod Kovach

Senior Jarod Kovach  was inspired to be a part of Mr. Kaneland because his brother did it five years ago and really liked it.  His favorite part of Mr. Kaneland is the entire atmosphere.  Kovach believes his biggest competitors are Matthew Redman and Patrick Murphy, but he thinks that his talent is pretty cool.  He believes that he is capable of being the next Mr. Kaneland because of all of his involvement in the school.
