Political: The West Wing

     If you’re a politics buff, you might just love The West Wing. It follows the life of Democrat Josiah “Jed” Bartlet as President of the United States. You get the see the day-by-day challenges and rewards of being the president and get to know right-hand colleagues. All seven seasons are on Netflix and each season has about 22 episodes. It’s a great show to watch during the summer especially leading up to the presidential election.

Psychological Horror: Bates Motel

     Three of the four seasons of Bates Motel are on Netflix. The fourth season is currently airing on TV now. This show is about a woman and her son who move to a new town after her husband dies. Trying to create a new life for them, the son, Norman, creates a close relationship with his mom, Norma, but takes a while to make new friends. The hardships they experience in the town cause Norman’s psyche to deteriorate, and unravel into a person Norma can never imagine her son being.

Action: Hawaii Five-0

      With the sixth season just coming out on TV, you can find the rest of this action-packed show on Netflix. Hawaii Five-0 follows Steve McGarrett, a detective sergeant, who tracks down  criminals. Each episode has a different plot, but the first episode is about McGarrett  and his fellow cops trying to find the man who murdered his father. It is a very intense show and draws you in as a viewer in every way possible.

Drama: Sherlock

     As a British television show, Sherlock is a thrilling and mysterious series. It will keep you on your toes as you watch this show on Netflix. Sherlock Holmes fights crime and solves mysteries as they are thrown to him and his partner Dr. John Watson. The fourth season will premiere in 2017, but the first  three are currently on Netflix so you can  get caught up now.

Sci-Fi: Arrow

     Presumably dead, the main character Oliver Queen comes home after five years of being on a stranded island. His closest friends believe he is the same guy he was before he was stranded, however that isn’t quite the case. At night Oliver goes out and saves the city he once knew, trying to regain its greatness using his fighting skills and bow and arrow. Three of the four seasons are currently on Netflix, but the fourth season is currently airing.

Crime-Comedy: Psych

     Shawn Spencer, alongside his best friend Burton Guster, work with the Santa Barbara Police Department to solve crimes. Shawn isn’t a police officer,. He claims that he’s a psychic. Shawn is a fake psychic and nobody knows besides his best friend and dad. The reason Shawn is good at solving crimes is because he notices small details that the average person does not. This show will make you laugh at Shawn’s humor as they solve mysteries. All eight seasons are currently on Netflix.
