During the summer time, many teenagers enjoy doing activities such as going to a waterpark, shopping or even just walking around outside. These activities are done when it is nice and sunny out, but what do you do on a yucky, rainy day?

1. Tie Dying

A good way to have fun, yet be creative, is tie dying. The only supplies needed for this activity are a white shirt, rubber bands and a tie dye kit. A white shirt can be found at Walmart from anywhere between 4 to 8 dollars, and a tie dye kit can be found at Walmart as well, from 10 to 20 dollars. Once all of the supplies are gathered, it is time for designing. There are many patterns out there- spiral, bullseye, stripes and more. In this particular video, it goes into detail on how to do a spiral shirt. Once the design is done, let the new, designed shirt sit in a plastic bag or wrap it in saran wrap. Then, let it sit for six to eight hours and put it into the washing machine!

2. Spa Day

A spa day is a great way to relieve stress and dedicate some time to yourself. There are many different things to do- face masks, hair masks or even a body scrub. All of these don’t have to be bought, but even better, can be made. This video shows all of the ingredients needed, and how to make these delightful, relaxing treats.

3. Cooking and Baking

A fun way to spend a day is making different foods for your friends, family or for yourself. This video shows how to make donuts, roasted red bell pepper hummus, strawberry mango salsa, avocado shrimp salsa and turkey sandwich rolls. It can be very exciting to create something of your own, and it will leave you feeling very productive!

4. Scrap-booking

A great way to capture all of your memories from high school is with scrap-booking. A scrapbook is something that you will cherish forever, and is also a very fun project. A beginner’s kit can be purchased at Michael’s, or you can buy separate supplies and create it from scratch. Add different photos that are special to you, and write about exciting moments of your life. This is an excellent way to think out of the box and use your creativity!

5. DIY room decor

Sometimes it can get boring having the same decor in your room all of the time, so it’s great to find a way to spice things up! DIY’s can add that extra touch to your room, and it can keep you busy on a rainy day. This video will show cute ways to display photos, how to make the most out of an empty wall and how to use pretty fabric in the best ways.
