“Christmas with the Kranks” (2004) is a PG comical Christmas movie on Netflix that the whole family will enjoy. Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis star as Luther and Nora Krank, and Julie Gonzalo plays their daughter Blair Krank.

The Kranks make the brave decision to go away and skip Christmas because, it won’t be the same without their daughter who is away in Peru due to her involvement in the peace corps. They decide to go on a 10-day Caribbean cruise but their plans change very quickly when they get a call from their daughter saying that she is coming home and will be there for Christmas. In a panic the two of them have to come up with everything to have the Christmas party that they weren’t planning on having, while facing all kinds of humorous challenges along the way.

This particular movie didn’t really feel like a Christmas one because of all of the funny and comical things that happened, such as when frosty the snowman fell off the roof while Mr. Krank was trying to put it up. I loved how I never knew what the next new problem was or when it was going occur next. I enjoyed how out of nowhere something unexpected would happen. The fact that things changed quickly made it very interesting to watch and all the disasters that were happening made me like it even more.

If you liked the movies “Elf”, starring Will Ferrell, “National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation,’’ “A Christmas Story,” and all the “Home Alone” movies then you will definitely like watching this one. All of these movies are comical Christmas movies the family will enjoy.

This movie is for anyone who likes to have a good laugh and enjoys watching Christmas movies. It is great to watch and gets you in the Christmas spirit. I could watch this movie over and over again. It is very entertaining and humorous. There is never a dull moment.
