December 8: Tis’ the season to wear ugly Christmas sweaters

By: Michael Stollard, Reporter

Why would you want to make an ugly Christmas sweater? The ugly Christmas sweater is the best way to get in the Christmas spirit, and to show your creative side. Since one of Kaneland’s spirit days invites students to sport ugly Christmas sweaters, why not learn how to make one? To make a sweater like the one shown in the photo refer to the following:

Supplies-

A base sweater (try to find one that is comfortable and fits well, while keeping in mind: the uglier the better), white fabric paint, Christmas patterned socks, felt Christmas trees, snowflakes, reindeer, cinnamon sticks and battery run lights.

Procedure-

Step one: Gather all of the supplies listed above.

Step two: Lay the sweater out flat.

Step three: Use white fabric paint to paint on a brick fireplace to the sweater.

Step four: Cut stocking shapes out of Christmas themed socks and glue them to the fireplace.

Step five: Take some Christmas trees and glue them on.

Step six: Add some snowflakes and a reindeer on top of the fireplace.

Step seven: Glue on some cinnamon sticks to look like logs are in the fireplace.

Step eight: Stitch on battery run lights.
