Living in a time when Hollywood movie ideas have become harder and harder to come by, directors and screenwriters alike struggle to find the perfect plot. Sequels to successful movies have become standard. After a huge success of “21 Jump Street,” the writers created “22 Jump Street.”

“22 Jump Street” features the exact same stars from the first movie. Channing Tatum plays Jenko, Jonah Hill plays Schmitt and Ice Cube returns as the Captain of the precinct. Along with a very similar cast, the movie features a storyline almost exactly the same as “21 Jump Street.”

Many viewers will find this to be a complete turnoff. The fact is “22 Jump Street” isn’t just a sequel to the first movie. “22 Jump Street” is a movie making fun of how awful sequels really are. They never truly live up to the expectation that the movie critic community makes them out to be.

The film is filled with a plethora of references ranging from the TV series “21 Jump Street” jokes to references to characters. At one point Jenko walks into the precinct and sees the Captain’s (Ice Cube) office, he says, “It looks like a big, Ice Cube.”

The film is a hilarious addition to the already funny “21 Jump Street.” The film writers did an amazing job making the same story line a new one. It brought a new twist and a hilarious look at two different cliques in a college campus. “22 Jump Street” is a movie that will keep you laughing and guessing the entire length of the film.
