Delicious, festive holiday cookie recipe

Everyone loves warm gooey chocolate chip cookies in the snowy winter season. Sink your teeth into this mouth-watering creation. So curl up with your favorite blanket and enjoy!
- Gather Ingredients. You will need:
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- ¾ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cups red and green sprinkles
- 2 cups chocolate chips (morsels)
- 1 teaspoon of peppermint (can be replaced with cinnamon)
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt
- In a separate large mix bowl beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, peppermint, and vanilla extract together until mixture becomes creamy
- Add each egg separately and beat well after adding them
- Gradually beat in flour mixture
- Stir in chocolate chips and (optional) chopped nuts
- Add red and green sprinkles
- Using a tablespoon, scoop small dough balls onto baking sheet
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes
- Put cookies on wire racks to let cool completely
