Delicious, festive holiday cookie recipe

Everyone loves warm gooey chocolate chip cookies in the snowy winter season. Sink your teeth into this mouth-watering creation. So curl up with your favorite blanket and enjoy!

  1. Gather Ingredients. You will need:
    • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
    • ¾ cups granulated sugar
    • ¾ cups packed brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 large eggs
    • ¼  cups red and green sprinkles
    • 2 cups chocolate chips (morsels)
    • 1 teaspoon of peppermint (can be replaced with cinnamon)
    • 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  3. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt
  4. In a separate large mix bowl beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, peppermint, and vanilla extract together until mixture becomes creamy
  5. Add each egg separately and beat well after adding them
  6. Gradually beat in flour mixture
  7. Stir in chocolate chips and (optional) chopped nuts
  8. Add red and green sprinkles
  9. Using a tablespoon, scoop small dough balls onto baking sheet
  10. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown
  11. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes
  12. Put cookies on wire racks to let cool completely
