Deep fried pickles, cotton candy and funnel cake were hands down the best festival food offered at Elburn Days this year.

Elburn days is well known to many in the Kaneland School District. The parade, tractor pulling and best of all the delicious carnival food.
One of the best food stands that is a “must go to” is Hill’s Country Store which can also be found in Kaneville.

Although Ice cream is recognizably one of the most popular food choices at Elburn Days, I couldn’t wait to get a hold of the deep fried treats

Who goes to a carnival without getting a deep fried Twinkie? The powdered sugar covering the  treat has a combination of both warm and sweet making it the taste bud’s best friend.

Funnel cakes and other deep fried goodies are personal favorites of mine, but the tastiest deep fried food is definitely the pickles. Alice’s Place in Elburn has the best fried pickles in the area, topping Buffalo Wild Wings overpriced pickles.

Exploring outside the realm of fried food, another popular carnival food are the cheese fries. The crisp and salty flavor of fries are complemented with gooey cheese sauce. The best snack for anyone who is looking for a quick bite.

Staying hydrated is very important especially during the summer. For a steep five dollars one can get a lemon shake up. A little overpriced, the freshly squeezed and thirst quenching lemonade does not disappoint.

The Elburn Lions food stand served pork chops and taco in a bag among other yummy food. The juicy and tender pork chop is a must have at Elburn days. Overall carnival food is somewhat expensive but absolutely delicious.
