Grade: Senior

Sport: Golf

Why she was selected: Guyton was chosen because she placed highly at the IHSA sectional, tying for fourth place and advancing to state. Guyton followed in her older sister’s footsteps as Haley Guyton was the first female to make it to state when she attended Kaneland High School.

Describe how you felt when you found out you had moved on to state.

I cried of happiness. I really did not think I had it in me.

How did you feel about your performance at the state tournament?

I was disappointed. It was a very long course, and it was difficult to make pars.

How was your overall experience at state?

It was so much fun. I was just so excited to get to be there.

What’s one of your goals for your team?

To get along, motivate each other, push each other to do our best, and to never give up.

What have you learned from going to state and playing golf in general?

To expect the best! I told myself I wouldn’t make it.
