Science club raises awareness about science throughout Kaneland High School by the various labs and activities that are conducted.
“During our meetings we do lab experiments that usually won’t be done in class. It gives exposure to other science classes,”science teacher Joanna Edelman leads this after-school club.
Science club can offer students a chance to get to know an area of science they like.
“I’m hoping it broadens their horizons and exposes them to other areas,” Edelman said.
Anyone can join science club no matter what science class a student is in at the time.
“The labs are fairly simple and fun so it doesn’t require background information,” Edelman said.
Senior Julia Golbeck has been a member since her freshman year and loved it right away.
“I had a couple friends in it, and it was fun. I ended up bringing a couple more friends into it,” Golbeck said.
Senior Michael McCormack and has also been a member since freshman year.
“Ever since I was little I loved science,” McCormack said.
