On Saturday,  February 4, the Kaneland Girl’s Varsity Basketball played their last home game of the regular season in the Kaneland Hoops for a Cure Shootout.  It was also senior night for Kylie Modaff, Morgan Weber and Alex Burrell.

“The atmosphere was unbelievable; there were so many emotions going around, and it was awesome to win on senior night,” guard Jamie Martens said

Burlington started the game on a 10-2 run before the Knights were able to stop their momentum. The Knights trailed for most of the game, including being down 47-40 with 4:55 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.  The Knights went on an 11-0 run to take a 51-47 lead.

“I think the game started out slow in the beginning. Towards the second half we turned things up and played one of our best games,” said guard Jenni Weber.

Senior guard Morgan Weber grilled the Rockets with 20 points and sank both free throws with 23 seconds remaining in overtime, sealing the game.   The Knights defeated Burlington Central in OT, 64-60 to improve to a 20-5 record.  Up next is regionals with the Knight having secured the top seed in their regional.
