What you will need:
· A soft, 16 inch, square pillow insert
· Two 22 inch fleece squares
· Scissors or rotary cutter
1. Take two squares of fleece and gently stretch them. They should be stretchy in one direction and not so much in the other. Line up the fleece, making sure both are stretchy in the same direction.
2. Cut three inch deep squares in each of the corners. Then cut three inch deep fringe all the way around the fabric, skipping over the notches. Strips between half an inch to one inch wide work best.
3. Pull gently on two strips of the fleece, to find if it is stretchy or not. Starting on one of the two sides that are not stretchy take each pair of fringe strips and tie them in a simple knot. Once the entire side is done, make sure the fabric is squared and lined up everywhere. Then, go to the opposite side of the pillow and do the same to the other not stretchy side. Make sure the fabric is squared then tie the fringe strips on one of the stretchy sides.
4. Next, pick one of the stretchy sides and tie all of the fringe pairs on that side. When they are all tied make sure the fleece is squared again.
5. Gently stuff the pillow insert into the case, making sure it is pushed down all the way. If any of the fringe starts to untie, double knot it. Tie off the remaining pairs of fringe. The last side should be a stretchy one, making it easier to tie around the pillow insert.
