I scream, you scream, we all scream for “Scream Queens”

Horror parody is one of the most entertaining genres surrounding both the little and big screen. FOX program’s new series “Scream Queens” defeats the stereotypical stupid-scary television show, as it brings hot button topics to the home of millions.

These intriguing focus points center around college campus’s Greek chapters and their accountability for hazing, alcohol poisoning and sexual assault.

Aside from the over-the-top content affiliated with the show, there are many other features that make it a weekly can’t miss such as the wicked costumes and exaggerated death scenes.

One of the first celebrity cameos of “Scream Queens” was Ariana Grande who played Chanel number two. She was one of the first members of Kappa Kappa Tau to be killed by the red devil. She died while typing a tweet asking for help from her laptop, but was stabbed in the head. Number two resurrects for a millisecond to press send and then dies.

Besides the overly dramatic acting, the show keeps me watching because of the humorous tactics. Every character in the show has made me laugh.

Overall, “Scream Queens” brought in major season withdrawals and disappointing numbers. After a lot of media attention, the show was predicted to be a big hit to both young adults and teenagers. Although the subjected age group was dead on, the show only had an average of 2.6 million viewers. Despite the ratings being lower than expected, there is a strong possibility a second season will come.
