Kaneland welcomes Joseph Conroy from the National Bank and Trust Company of Sycamore as one of the newest additions to the teaching staff. Conroy teaches CTE classes, including Applications of Technology and Economics/Personal Finance.

He has a background in business and financial education. In addition he coached basketball at Northern Illinois University.

Conroy learned of the teaching opportunity from Paul Potvin, the school’s Auto teacher. The job was an opportunity to get back into the classroom and teach again.

“I lived in the area and wanted to get back to teaching to help students. The students are fantastic, everyone’s upbeat and friendly,” Conroy said.

After being asked what he is looking forward to this year, “Learning the culture of the school, and learning to help inside and outside of class with student success,” Conroy said.

Outside of school he can be found spending time with his family as well as woodworking and building long board skateboards.
