Kaneland High School welcomes Zack Fitzenreider
Zack Fitzenreider turns out to be not-so-new to District 302 and he’s enthusiastic about becoming part of the Kaneland High School faculty. He is an RTI coordinator at KHS and helps any student who is failing their class, and organizes un-eligibility.
Fitzenreider didn’t always know that he wanted to be an educator.
“I was selling advertising at 25 and later realized that I had always been teaching people,” Fitzenreider said.
After deciding that he didn’t like selling advertising, he started out teaching in the fifth grade. Fitzenreider also spent two years as an assistant principal at John Shields Elementary School.
Fitzenreider has an optimistic outlook about his future experience at KHS.
“It’s been great so far, and there’s a really positive energy,” Fitzenreider said.
Coming to a new place of work can be nerve wracking to some people, but not him.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know students and staff,” Fitzenreider said.
Teaching isn’t everything that Fitzenreider fills his everyday life with,
“I play guitar, bowl and spend a lot of time with my kids,” Fitzenreider said.
