Kaneland is welcoming many new staff members, among them is Mike Purcell. Purcell works in the district office as an administrator. Purcell is looking forward to plenty of things this school year.

“My first priority is to better get to know the school, teachers, and history of Kaneland. Also to better understand what makes this a better place to be,” Purcell said.

Purcell is enjoying KHS as a whole

“I love working with the high school and the whole district. I’m very happy to be here,” Purcell said.

Before coming to Kaneland, Purcell worked in the Oswego district office. Before that he worked in the Naperville School District, first as a teacher, then a junior high administrator.

Purcell chose to come to KHS because he got to know some of the staff, and he was impressed on how friendly they were and how focused they were on the students education.

Purcell enjoys coming to work everyday.

“I enjoy being able to work with the teachers and administrators to help kids be ready for life after high school,” Purcell said.

During Purcell’s free time he spends as much time with his daughter and wife. He also plays golf and coaches his daughter’s soccer team.
