New religion based on rapper Kanye West

Kanye West has been one of the most popular rappers of our generation, some fans have taken it to the point of creating what they call a “religion” based on Kanye West.

The religion is called Yeezianity; according to yeezianity.com it is just like Christianity but Kanye is in place of Jesus.

The religion includes five pillars and a golden rule. The golden rule is “create for others what you would have created for yourself.”

According to the anonymous owner of the Yeezianity website, “we are a forward-minded group who believes that the one who calls himself Yeezus is the highest living human being, and he will help to usher in a New Age of humanity.”

The website never comes right out and says the name “Kanye West”. It says his name shall never be spoken and he will only be referred to as Yeezus, yet it is obvious by the art on the website, it is in fact referring to Kanye West.

According to the website all someone has to do to join the religion is take a selfie holding a sign that says “I believe in Yeezus” and post it to their Instagram or Twitter with #yeezianity.

Some don’t agree the religion is legitimate, such as Kaneland Alumi Andrew Tobin.

“I think its really funny actually. I would never follow [yeezianity] or ‘believe in it.’ I’m a Christian who just happens to like Kanye. I would never worship him or anything like that. That’s taking it to a completely different dimension of being a fan,” Tobin said.

Although some people see this to be a joke or a prank the website claims to be “the best church of all time.”
