Kaneland is welcoming many new teachers to the staff, among them is Steve Auchstetter. Auchstetter teaches both World Cultures and US History.

“It’s just what interests me. Anything that has to do with history and geography really sparks my interests,” Auchstetter said.

Auchstetter worked at Kaneland back in 1993 until 2002. He recently decided to return because he really enjoyed his time here before.

“KHS is a great school to be at, the atmosphere, the students, the staff members and its just great to come to work everyday,” Auchstetter said.

Before Auchstetter started working at Kaneland again, he was home taking care of his children. He spends the majority of his time with his family.

“Right now I don’t have any spare time. I mostly go to my kids’ games and have family time,” Auchstetter said.

This school year Auchstetter is looking forward to a great experience, meeting everyone, meeting students and a great football season.
