“She finished in the top two in my original assessment, I liked her since the very beginning,” Vice President Teresa Witt said.

Dr. Goier will fill the position while the board undergoes a search for a permanent replacement. The board chose Goier strictly based on her extensive experience, professional leadership and student-centered decision making.

“She has worked at every level all the way from preschool to college,” Kaneland Board President, Cheryl Krauspe said.

Dr. Goier has worked in various levels of public education and most recently served as Superintendent of Schools for Deerfield Public Schools District 109.

As a member of the Kaneland community herself, Goier expressed her love for the community, and her interest in seeing Kaneland succeed.

“My focus is going to be to make sure the district is running smoothly, and to get to know all the students and staff,” Goier said.

Dr. Goier will start in the district this week, spending her first several days visiting various schools and meeting members of the Kaneland Community.

“I look forward to getting to know everyone a bit better, I have already been so welcomed in just the first few minutes,” Goier said.

She will join the rest of the staff within the Kaneland Community ensuring that all Kaneland Graduates will receive an exceptional education and set all students up for career readiness.
