Kaneland Volleyball spikes kindness on the court

Kindness Knight was on Thursday, October 17th when the Kaneland Knights Varsity Volleyball played the Sycamore Spartans. Kaneland won 25-22, 23-25, 26-24. Junior Ellie Dunn had 18 kills. Senior Jenny Lubic had 27 assists and sophomore Kathy Nguyen had 12 digs. The players wore green jerseys and decorated the gym with green balloons and posters.

Middle hitter Mckenzie McMullan sang “All Kinds of Kinds” by Miranda Lambert before the game.

“High School is supposed to be the best 4 years of our lives, that’s why being kind to each other is really important,” McMullan said. Kaneland Poms did a routine and teamed up with Sycamore Poms to show that rivals can work together. They wore “Be Nice, Be Happy” shirts to show support for the Kindness Campaign.

“This was a good opportunity to bring certain circumstances to the school in a fun way and be able to get along with other schools,” Poms member Nicole DiSandro said.
