Every year the Dennis and Karen Goodenough fund donates money to the KHS library. They give a generous donation of around $500 for the library to buy new books; they donate in the name of their grandchild who attends Kaneland.

The budget given to the library from the school has been cut compared to what it use to be.

“When the economy went through a rough time, the school was having a rough time financially too, so I don’t get as much money in my budget like I used to,” librarian Lorna Code said.

There has never been any restrictions set in place on what kind of books they want the money to be used towards. The majority of the time the money goes to buying popular fiction books that students would like to read.

The library is very grateful for the money that the Dennis and Karen Goodenough fund has provided them with over the years.
