KHS Talents

As winter comes to a close, we look towards spring. Something Kaneland as a whole looks forward to is the annual talent show. On April 11, the talent show begins and the students of Kaneland will get to show their stuff.

This Kaneland tradition began in 2002 and draws viewers each year. Students of Kaneland get to show off their talents ranging from dancing to singing. Viewers never know what they are going to see next.

“The talent show has gotten better; the acts have become more of a routine,” consumer science teacher Judy Fabrizius said.

Students Dalvell Triplett and Mitch Bateman know what it’s like to be talent show veterans. Triplett, who is well known for his dancing just competed in Mr. Kaneland along side his fellow talent show act, Mitch Bateman.

Mitch Bateman will perform a Pentatonix singing act with his friends. Pentatonix is an acapella group, which means they make music without any instruments. Bateman has been performing since sixth grade, and throughout the years, Bateman has learned what makes performing truly enjoyable.

“Being up on stage with friends and just having fun. It makes all the work worth it and it’s awesome to watch everything come together. The talent show is going to excite,” Bateman said.
