On Friday September 23, the Kaneland Knights battled a hard and intense game against the DeKalb Barbs. The Knights played their hearts out against one of the biggest rivals. In the first quarter the Knights and Barbs tackled, sprinted and scored touchdowns, the Barbs took the lead with a score of 0-7.

According to Freshman Ella Siblik, “I think since it’s my first year as a rowdie and I’m a freshman, I think DeKalb will lose.”

During the second quarter, both Kaneland and DeKalb scored and it was 7-21, Kaneland really needed to pick up the pace and focus.

“Since I wasn’t here last year I think it’ll be better, I’ve also heard a lot about DeKalb,” junior Lexi Abruzzo said.

After halftime, Kaneland came back with a score of 24-49, it still wasn’t enough to beat the Barbs. Finally in the fourth and final quarter, the Barbs took the win, 31-49.
