Kindness Week has began in the Kaneland School District and throughout Kane County. This week of events is presented by P.E.A.K. for Kids, but what is this organization? P.E.A.K. stands for Promoting Enrichment And Kindness. This is an organization that is dedicated to inspiring and promoting kindness throughout the community. Their mission includes being kind to the environment, each other and ourselves. P.E.A.K. creates programs, events and resources to help complete this mission. They connect with local schools and businesses to promote random acts of kindness.

One of the many programs P.E.A.K. started was the Kindness in Kaneland Week, running the week of October 13 through the 19.This week is dedicated to doing random acts of kindness for strangers that need help. P.E.A.K. hopes to prevent bullying in the communities with the week of kindness.

Besides sponsoring Kindness in Kaneland week; P.E.A.K. also does many things to promote kindness in the community. They get the word out by distributing t-shirts, stickers, signs and more with the message “Be Nice. Be Happy.”; a proactive way for kids today to live their lives.
