On May 16, the KHS girl’s tennis team will be holding a tennis tournament that everyone can take a part of to raise money for Ronald McDonald House.

“Ronald McDonald House is a place where family can stay if they have a family member who is ill. Its a place where a family can feel safe and have a peace of mind to whoever is in the hospital,” freshman Cody Schrepferman said.

Cost of entry will be $5 for each participant with each team consisting of four players maximum with a minimum of two. Each team may only include one tennis player and only one teacher.

All games will be played drop fed points with each winner advancing in a bracket. Drop fed points mean that either the serving team or the defending team may score. The teams that lose are guaranteed to play a second game in a different bracket.

The winning team will receive a prize that, at this point, is inclusive.

One can sign up for the tournament at lunch the week of May 11. Everyone who wants to take part in the tournament must be signed up by Thursday, May 15.

All raffle tickets are due the day of the tournament, May 16.

According to varsity tennis coach Tim Larsen, the tournament will start at 3:30 p.m. and will last until 5:30 p.m. In the case of rain, the tournament will be moved to Saturday, May 17.

“There is much excitement surrounding this event. Its cool that its for a good cause and it will be a lot fun,” varsity tennis player Colleen Landers said.

People will also have the option to take part in bag toss games if eliminated from tournament or for any people who donate to RMDH.

Food will be provided by the tennis team.
