On Friday, Sept. 30, the Kaneland Knights hosted the Sycamore Spartans in a matchup between two longtime Interstate-8 rivals. Aside from that pivotal conference game, though, it was Kaneland’s annual Military Appreciation Night. Kaneland community members who are veterans or active service members were invited to the school for a night filled with family-friendly activities and expressions of the community’s gratitude for all of their service and sacrifice. Two Army recruiters stood near the entrance prior to the game to greet fans and answer questions.
