Kaneland High School’s girls varsity volleyball team played at Harter Middle School, where fans packed the gym for a game against Sycamore High School.

The girls defeated Sycamore with a whopping 25-17 for the first set. Sycamore was not able to bounce back the second set, the score ending with 25-13.

“Varsity is now at even better chances to win conference,” senior Natalie Kraemer said.

Currently, they are first in conference with a 9-0 record and in the regular standings with a record of 25-4 against difficult schools such as Glenbard East, Rock Falls, West Aurora and Benet.

“I think Sydney Fedderly played the best. She was basically everywhere and was able to get to every second ball,” junior Grace Vranicar said.

The game was in question as to whether it would be in the new East gym, but the location was moved to Harter beforehand. The girls are eager to play on their new home ground.

“I am so excited for the gym to be done, it will be open for our last game, senior night,” senior Sydney Fedderly said.

After waiting for almost the entire season, the girls will finally be able to play in the renovated East gym Thursday, October 18.
